Mr. James MacPherson
Chief Executive Officer

With over twenty years experience, Mr. MacPherson has specialized in conflict resolution for corporate and governmental organizations, including designing and directing international multilingual arbitration and mediation programs. Prior to launching the BCDR-AAA, James' extensive experience in the Middle East included serving as a Country Director with the American Bar Association's Rule of Law Initiative, focusing on judicial and legal reform programs within the Bahrain Ministry of Justice and delivering ADR training programs to judges and lawyers in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Syria. James has advised businesses and government agencies in the Middle East, North Africa and North America on ADR systems design and training as well as legislative policy.

Mr MacPherson has mediated hundreds of disputes including numerous banking (e.g. Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto Dominion Bank and Canadian Business Development Bank), insurance (e.g. AXA, Progressive and Zurich) and other commercial and employment disputes (e.g. McDonald's, Toyota and US Marine Corps & Navy). He holds a BA in history and political science from Bishop's, University of Toronto and an LLB from the University of Edinburgh.

Mr Al Aradi has held a number of advisory roles for various government organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. These include serving as Senior Advisor for the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution Project at the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs and as International and Legal Affairs advisor for the Ministry of Culture and Information. He has also acted as coordinator in the mediation and resolution of large scale labour disputes.

Regionally, Mr Al Aradi has acted as Chairman for the Power of Mediation Conference for creating awareness of Mediation in Bahrain and other GCC Countries in 2009. While internationally, he has served as a Diplomat, Legal Advisor, Human Rights and Civil Society Coordinator, and has represented Bahrain at the UN and other international organizations. Mr. Al Aradi has undertaken various training courses in both mediation and arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Association of Lawyers (UIA), in addition to ongoing training from the American Arbitration Association (AAA).


 

Mr. Ahmed Husain

Mr. Husain has served as a Supervisor in Reasearch and Legal affairs, Ex-Court Representative of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Directorate at the GOSI, practiced law and was admitted before the Cassation Court in Bahrain. Mr. Husain was also a board member of the Bahrain Bar Society (Secretary General of the Bar 2007 -2009), the National Commission for Evaluation Academic Degrees (NCEAD), and National Commission for Childhood.

Mr Husain earned his BA in Law from the Islamic Jurisprudence and Law Faculty at Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt in 1987, and also carries a Middle Management Diploma from the University of Bahrain in 1992.
