Mediation skills training workshop attracts new lawyers

A three-day training workshop was organized by the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI) in co-operation with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA).

The workshop was conducted by Assistant Chief Executive and Chief Registrar, Ali Al Aradi, along with JLSI Acting Head Mohsin Al Asfoor, and focused on the basic elements of mediation including the dynamics of negotiation, techniques and ethics of mediation, preparing for mediation simulation and mediation in commercial disputes. The workshop also reviewed mediation case studies.

Chief Registrar, Ali Al Aradi, stated: "the training workshop is in line with BCDR-AAA's commitment to promote a culture of alternative means for dispute resolution and to create a supportive environment to encourage mediation and arbitration as a means to avoid the potentially lengthy and costly litigation process".

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution was launched in partnership with the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the world's leading provider of conflict management and dispute resolution services.
