BCDR/SCC Joint conference on salient issues in investment arbitration

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) are pleased to announce a joint conference which will take place on Sunday 18 November 2018 at the ART Rotana Hotel and Resort on Amwaj Islands in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The conference aims to provide key updates and lively discussion on recent developments in investment arbitration. The topics covered include:

  1. Should investment disputes be submitted to international arbitration or to a permanent investment court?
  2. Procedural efficiency in investment arbitration (summary disposition of claims, expedited procedures and emergency arbitrator procedures)
  3. How to strike a balance between the protection of investments and the host country's right to regulate?
  4. To what extent are conciliation and mediation efficient in the settlement of investor-state disputes?

At the close of the conference, BCDR-AAA and the SCC will host a cocktail reception, followed by a screening of The Quiet Triumph - presented by the SCC.
