The Enforcement Order of Foreign Arbitral Awards: Does It Require Filing an Enforcement Case or Submitting an Application for Enforcement?

ABSTRACT
This article will focus on the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Egypt. Specifically, it will discuss the difference between enforcing foreign arbitral awards under Egypt’s Arbitration Law No.27/1994 (i.e., by ordonnance sur requête) and the Egyptian Code of Civil Procedure, the latter of which imposes substantially more onerous conditions, higher fees, and charges on enforcement.
